About

I am Technical Advisor in the subject areas of Media and Photography. My role includes working across all areas of Photography.

I support learning and teaching to help enhance the student experience, this also includes facilitating the use of our Photographic Areas.

I joined the University in March 2019, bringing over twelve years of training and experience working in a photography and media environment.

Outside of University, since doing my degree in 2005 I have and still do work as a freelance photographer, using my own initiative, whilst working under pressure to meet deadlines to a high standard. I photograph out on location at wide range of events including weddings, as well as in the studio environment.

Having a flexible and enthusiastic approach gives me a big advantage when working within the specialism of photography. My outstanding planning and ability to time manage is one of the abilities that as a photographer help me meet deadlines under different pressures. I have exhibited my work at different spaces and places since University.

I also set up demonstrations and preparation of materials for lessons using digital and traditional photographic processes, which includes digital SLRs, film cameras, different studio lighting setups and black & white darkroom techniques.

This includes running versus student inductions for use of our vast and ever-growing photographic areas and equipment. This also includes maintaining records for Health & Safety checks including COSSH, Risk Assessments and when required organizing external equipment servicing.

I can also be found helping and supporting in the Media Loan Hub. Administering bookings for Students and Staff wanting to use our specialist equipment as well as studios and bookable spaces.
