About

I received my BSc (Mathematics) and MSc (Computational Mathematics) degrees in 2004 and 2017 respectively and my PGCE in 2006, all from the University of Derby. I have over ten years of experience teaching sixth-form mathematics and served in the Royal Corps of Signals as an Electronic Warfare specialist.

I am currently working towards a PhD degree in thresholding semi-bandit problems under adversarial attack, as part of the Data Science Research Centre, also at University of Derby, and in collaboration with ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) at the LHC (Large Hadron Collider), CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research). This work involves the development of intelligent monitoring of particle detector conditions as an application of online machine learning.

As part of my research, I consulted for Resonate Group Ltd, using deep learning and natural language processing to predict rail network delays. My research interests include online machine learning, sequential decision-making problems, multi-armed bandits and partial monitoring problems under adversarial feedback.
