About

I am a lecturer with the undergraduate Children's Nursing team. As part of this role I teach on all of the modules from stage 1 to stage 3, including theory sessions and simulated skill sessions.

Teaching responsibilities

I work closely with other members of the Children's Nursing team to deliver joined up, relevant module content, ensuring that all taught sessions follow on from one another seamlessly and meet the module learning outcomes. I have a particular focus on working with stage 1 students, supporting them with the transition to university education and life.

Professional interests

Professionally, having worked as a children's nurse in the NHS in a number of different clinical roles, I have a particular interest in children's cardiac health. I am also a keen advocate of public health promotion, particularly education for both children, their families and nurses, around vaccinations and the UK Routine Vaccine Schedule.

Additional interests and activities

I love to run and enjoy competing in different races across the region. I am also a keen yogi and have been practising since I started my training to become a children's nurse. I find that the breathing techniques and mindfulness that yoga have taught me, have supported me throughout my career.
