I provide full technical support for the Zoology and Biology Undergraduate Programmes ( this includes fieldwork support and support for laboratory based activities). I also manage all aspects of Health and Safety in the Aquatic Research Facility.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach on the third year Science Communication module and have also taught on the second year module: Research Methods. I regularly demonstrate specialised techniques incorporated within the practical element of modules.

Research interests

I am currently involved in research exploring the impact of diurnal and seasonal cycles of aquatic microbes and their role in fish health.

I would be interested in research collaborations involving the education of the general public about reef conservation.

Experience in industry

Before being employed at the University of Derby, I have been employed in several laboratory assistant roles, including Aquatic Toxicology laboratories, NHS Cytology laboratories and as a secondary school science technician.
