About

With over thirteen years of teaching experience in Game Design and Game Development, combined with an 18-year career in the Game Industry contributing to 'AAA' titles such as the original Tomb Raider series, I bring a unique blend of academic expertise and industry insight.

I specialise in digital innovation through practice-led, interdisciplinary education, with a focus on existing and emerging pipelines such as level and game design, AI pipelines, gamification integration, and immersive XR. My work sits at the intersection of commercial application, creative technologies, and inclusive, future-focused pedagogy. I excel in inspiring students, managing academic and technical teams, and developing curricula that respond directly to current industry needs.

Teaching responsibilities

Professional interests

My professional interests lie in game design, narrative systems, and investigating behavioural game mechanics, with a particular focus on horror design and XR/VR applications. I specialise in creating experiences that explore learning, behaviour, and storytelling, with a focus on level design that provides atmosphere, immersion, and player agency.

Research interests

My research interests focus on immersive and experimental game design, particularly within XR and VR. I am a co-founder of a VR/AR research group and co-organiser of The Virtual Imperative conference in London, which brought together academics and industry professionals to explore the future of extended reality, as well as guesting on BBC Radio Kent to discuss VR.
