I am Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Specialist Sports Journalism course and teach predominantly on the Football Journalism and Specialist Sports Journalism courses.

My main expertise is video and before joining the University of Derby I held the position of Video Manager in the Communications Department at Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. I was responsible for the club's video content for nine years, setting up its YouTube channel, managing the club’s website and developing Wolves' social media channels.

Before my time at Wolves, I spent two years as a broadcast journalist in local radio.

Teaching responsibilities

I lead and teach a module on video journalism and am also involved in teaching some aspects of audio, multimedia journalism, PR and social media.

Membership of professional bodies

Became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2018.


Experience in industry

Two years as a broadcast journalist as 107.7 the Wolf (now Signal 107) in Wolverhampton.

Nine years in the Communications Department at Wolves as a press officer, videographer and then Video Manager.

Additional interests and activities

I have a keen interest in grassroots sport and coach football and rugby.
