About

I joined the University of Derby as a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology in February 2020. My background is in Psychology and Forensic Psychology. However, during my Doctorate, at the School of Architecture of The University of Sheffield, I applied this knowledge in an interdisciplinary manner while studying Road lighting and its impact on pedestrian reassurance. During this doctoral project, I explored different data collection methods such as VR, Eye-tracking, Biopac, and Surveys.

I have had the opportunity to research or support research in a variety of topics such as Sexual Homicide, Situational Crime Analysis, and Children's perceptions of Court language.

Furthermore, between 2012 and 2013, I have collaborated with police units focused on criminal investigation and support to vulnerable victims in Portugal (NIAVE, GNR), and recently, volunteered with young people.

Currently, I am in an international collaboration with Instituto de Tecnologia Comportamental in Portugal regarding the application and operationalization of situational crime prevention in Lisbon.

Teaching responsibilities

Other teaching responsibilities include dissertation supervision in the BSc (Hons) in Forensic Psychology and in the BSc (Hons) in Forensic Science. I am also a Personal Academic Tutor, a Forensic Psychology Careers and Employability co-coordinator, and L3 year tutor.
