About

I am a Senior Lecturer in Education. I work within the Education department at the University supporting international teachers, at different stages in their careers, to help develop their subject pedagogy and practice at master's level.

Teaching responsibilities

I teach on the international Postgraduate Certificate of Education course.

I support teachers in developing their critical approaches to understanding and practising teaching and learning. Particularly in creating an inclusive classroom culture and developing engaging and relevant curricula for the twenty-first century.

Professional interests

I am interested in all aspects of pedagogy especially education for sustainability, criticality, and issues around inclusion.

My research interests focus on developing the engagement of communities with sustainable practices. Particularly around areas of education and community learning.

Qualifications

Experience in industry

I have taught humanities in secondary education in the UK for 14 years. I have been a faculty lead and assistant headteacher. I have also acted as an educational consultant for a social enterprise advising on engaging young people with their communities and environment.
