Dr Alan R Williams joined the University as Academic Lead in April 2019. He led the online nursing and health portfolio and since August 2022 leads the professional doctorate in the College. Alan is a Registered Nurse (Adult and Mental Health) with over 20 years’ experience in the NHS before moving to academia in 2006 leading pre-registration nursing and health programmes.

Alen is a Senior Lecturer in Global Affairs and Politics and programme leader for BA in International Relations and Politics. His research focuses on the role of the state in global production networks and the economic policy agenda of populist parties in government.

Alessio is Professor of Social Policy within the School of Law and Social Sciences at the University of Derby. He also co-directs the Centre for Criminology and Social Policy Research.

Alex Barker joined the University of Derby as a lecturer in June 2022. Previously, he was a lecturer in Psychology at Nottingham Trent University from 2021 to 2022 and held a researcher position at the University of Nottingham between 2016 and 2021.

As a Lecturer in Creative Writing and co-Programme Leader for the MA Creative Writing, Alex is involved actively in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as attending too many key administrative functions in his role as co-Programme Leader. He has also been an Associate Lecturer for a number of years in the Creative and Professional Writing programme.
