Module description

To secure employment or training, students must demonstrate key employability competencies such as self-awareness, effective communication, career learning, career management and experience. This module is designed to support students at any stage in their professional development planning in securing graduate level employment and/or postgraduate study. 

This module will draw on and develop your expertise as an independent researcher to facilitate skills in researching your own industry(ies), helping you to develop employability related skills, secure additional training or study to attain appropriate qualifications and ultimately attain graduate level posts.  

This 40-credit module will introduce knowledge relating to employability and will cover a broad range of employability skills, outlined in the Employable Student Framework, for you to apply to your industry, such as:

Component 2: Coursework

Summary of Assessment Method:  500 word reflective summary of development and plans for continued career planning

Entry requirements

You will need to have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate course with the College of Sciences at the University of Derby, and be graduating in the Summer/Autumn of 2018.
