Online course description

You’ll develop knowledge and understanding of the assessment, diagnosis and management of people presenting with minor injuries. This will provide healthcare professionals with a solid theoretical foundation to inform future practice. Whilst the course does include examination techniques, it is not possible to assess the application of this knowledge within the students own clinical setting. As with all aspects of clinical practice, this would need to be agreed with your employer, in line with regulatory body guidance and other national and local guidelines.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of the course, you will be able to:

  1. Critically apply the relevant anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to the care of patients with minor injury
  2. Formulate a diagnosis, treatment and appropriate referral plan for patients presenting with minor injury

Course content

Benefits

Offset course credits towards BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies (Top-Up)

If you are a registered nurse but do not have a degree qualification, once you’ve completed this course you could offset the 20 credits towards our online BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies (Top-Up) degree. This would reduce the number of modules you would need to study and the total cost of the course.
