The Level 6 Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply is made up of six modules, three of which are compulsory. You must complete five modules to complete the award.

In this module you'll cover:

  • The leadership skills and behaviours that are appropriate for improving procurement and supply chain management
  • How to create a communication plan to influence personnel involved in a supply chain
  • How to overcome common challenges faced by procurement and supply chain managers
  • The main methods to lead change in the supply chain.

In this module you'll cover:

  • The concept of strategy in organisations in supply chains
  • The main elements of strategy formulation and implementation that impact on supply chains
  • The implementation of strategies in supply chains
  • How to develop a plan for the development of the supply chain functional strategy.

In this module you'll cover:

  • How strategic supply chain management can support and influence corporate and business levels of strategy
  • How different aspects of supply chain design can influence the supply chain strategy
  • The main techniques to achieve effective strategic supply chain management
  • How to create a plan to achieve effective strategic supply chain management.

In this module you'll cover:

  • The main implications of globalisation on supply chain management
  • The main aspects of the corporate environment and their impact on supply chains
  • The main financial aspects that affect supply chains
  • The main performance measures of the supply chain.

In this module you'll cover:

  • The main aspects of major programmes and projects
  • The main contracting issues for major programmes and projects
  • The main approaches to the planning of major programmes and projects
  • The main approaches to the control of major programmes and projects.

In this module you'll cover:

  • The main legal issues that relate to the formation of relationships in supply chains
  • How to interpret and apply implied and express contractual terms that impact on procurement and supply
  • The main regulations that impact on procurement and supply
  • The legal implications of contractual non-performance in procurement and supply.

The five modules are delivered on Tuesdays through a combination of morning, afternoon and evening lectures.

You will learn by a combination of lectures, tutorials and practical exercises. In the revision phase you will learn by attempting exam standard questions and debriefing advice by tutors on how the questions should be approached to maximise marks. It is advised that you sit one to three papers per sitting.

How you're assessed

Assessment is by sitting external examinations set by the professional body CIPS.
