The programme

The Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) exam requires you to demonstrate your ability to make strategic business reporting decisions. Set within the corporate reporting environment you will be tested on concepts, theories, principles and crucially your ability to apply this knowledge to real life scenarios.

Structure, certificates and assessment

The course consists of 5 days tuition and 2 days revision. The course will be delivered online through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Material will be available online for 11 weeks commencing Monday 22 June 2020.
Taught phase dates: 27 June, 11, 18 and 25 July, 1 August

Revision phase dates: 22 and 23 August

You will be expected to engage in a number of hours of independent learning which will be supported through our VLE.


The assessment is a 3-hour computer based exam which is set by ACCA and at centres determined by ACCA.  Under normal circumstances the exams take place on a quarterly basis in March, June, September and December.  This course is designed to prepare you for the September 2020 exam sitting. Due to Covid-19 ACCA are looking at students being able to sit the exams remotely from home. For more information visit

Nagin Lad is the Professional Programmes Lead and in charge of the ACCA Programme. Prior to joining the University he ran his own accountancy practice and has been teaching since 1996 both in the UK and overseas. He was nominated by his students and won the PQ Magazine Public Sector Lecturer of the Year award in 2017.
