PLATO (PLAgiarism Teaching Online) is an interactive tool with tutorials and advice on citing and referencing and how to avoid plagiarism.

There are many reasons referencing is important:

Plagiarism is taking another person’s work, ideas or research and using them as your own. Paraphrasing another person’s work without citing the source is also plagiarism.

It is important that you check with your tutors which referencing style is used on your course.
