Join us remotely for the Festival of Learning 2020!

Tuesday, 14 July to Thursday, 16 July 2020 - hosted on our CELT SharePoint Site

Due to the current situation, the University of Derby’s 2nd Annual Festival of Learning will now be held remotely as an extended three-day online event in July. Our Festival will feature live content (keynote speakers, Q&As, social events) as well as asynchronous on-demand sessions delivered by academic and professional colleagues. Entertainment by staff and students will also be featured during the Festival.

Submissions now open!

We invite colleagues to submit proposals for pre-recorded sessions (up to 20 minutes in length) to be released during the Festival. Student participation is encouraged as much as possible, either as co-presenters or by the inclusion of the student perspective in sessions. We would welcome a broad range of submissions around current practice and/or pedagogic research themes including but not restricted to:

How to submit your proposal

Abstract: You should submit a video abstract of no more than 2 minutes duration. Advice and guidance for video submission is available but if you would like further advice or support please contact tel@derby.ac.uk.

Written abstracts will not be considered. Your abstract should outline the topic of your proposal and what festival-goers can expect to get from watching your session. The proposal recordings will also be used to promote your session to delegates in advance of the Festival.

Submission outcomes will be confirmed in mid-June and successful applicants asked to provide their final 20-minute session recordings in advance of the Festival (deadlines and guidance will be provided).

You should send a link to your video via our submission form below.

If you have any queries, please contact festivaloflearning@derby.ac.uk before submission.
