iCeGS is a research centre with over 20 years expertise in career and career development research.
The International Centre for Guidance Studies (iCeGS) is a research centre established in 1998. The Centre has particular expertise in career guidance and career development. The Centre conducts research, provides consultancy to the career sector, offers a range of training and delivers a number of accredited learning programmes up to and including doctoral level.
iCeGS has particularly strong interests in the following areas:
- Career progression and employability
- Careers work in schools
- Careers work in higher education
- Careers work with adults
- Workforce development
- Equality and diversity
- Technology and guidance
- Research design and dissemination
- International consultancy.
iCeGS achieved the silver award for Investors in People in October 2015. This demonstrates that iCeGS is an outstanding place to work and committed to staff development. The Centre employs eight researchers with a range of academic and professional backgrounds and works closely with a network of research associates and partners who contribute specialist knowledge and capacity. iCeGS has a strong ethos which connects our research to policy and practice.
