Post Graduate Research Assistant (PGRA) Opportunities within College of Business, Law & Social Sciences, University of Derby

The Centre for Business Improvement (led by Professor Carley Foster) and the Centre for Supply Chain Improvement (led by Professor Jose Arturo Garza-Reyes) have opportunities for Full-Time Post Graduate Research Assistants. There are 5 vacancies in total in a variety of business and management disciplines.

Each successful applicant will receive a stipend of £14553 per annum and a personal development budget of £1,000 per annum for 3 years. The post also covers Home/EU PhD tuition fees for three years.    

The successful applicant will be expected to complete their PhD within 3 years on the Traditional Route PhD, contribute to the Centre/College REF submission and get involved in the wider research activities of the relevant Centre.

Applicants will become part of a friendly and welcoming team and will be supported and managed by their supervisors and the Centre Heads.

BLSS_Evaluation_PGRA_1217 – Post Graduate Research Assistant in Enterprise Evaluation & Applied Economics. Home/EU applicants only.


BLSS_Operations_PGRA_1217 – Post Graduate Research Assistant in Operations & Supply Chain Management. Open to Home/EU and International applicants.


BLSS_AI_PGRA_1217 – Post Graduate Research Assistant in Artificial Intelligence Applications in Supply Chain Management. Open to Home/EU and International applicants.


Please note, if your application is successful and you are assessed as Overseas for fees purposes, you will need to pay the difference between the Home/EU fees and the Overseas fees.
