The University of Derby has an opportunity for four full-time postgraduate research studentship in one of the six topics in the Law area of research.

MPhil/PhD Derby, UK £15,609 stipend pa + UK home tuition fees full time Friday 10 December 2021 Wednesday 12 January 2022  March 2022

The successful applicant will receive a maintenance stipend (based on the minimum stipend defined by UKRI, currently £15,609 for the academic year 2021/22) and home MPhil/PhD tuition fees only up to the target submission date (three years). The post also covers a personal development budget of £1,000 per annum for three years.

Please note, if your application is successful and you are assessed as Overseas for fees purposes, you will need to pay the difference between the Home fees and the EU/Overseas fees.

The intended intake period is March 2022, or the next available intake.

The successful applicant will be expected to complete their MPhil/PhD within three to four years on the MPhil/PhD route, contribute to the college REF submission and get involved in the wider research activities of the college.

You will become part of a friendly and welcoming team and will be supported and managed by your supervisors.

The vacancy details are as follows.

A total of four research studentships will be awarded. You must give a clear indication of your area of research interest and preferred supervisor. There is currently supervisory capacity in six research areas, from which applicants can choose:

The period of study should enable you to add to the wider knowledge and understanding and the body of research in your chosen area of study and generate new insights and thinking that may influence the future direction of research in your field.
