The Human Sciences Research Centre in the College of Life and Natural Sciences, has an opportunity for a University Funded Full-Time Post Graduate Research Studentship in the area of Biomedical Sciences. The candidate will work on a project which is investigating the molecular mechanisms of insulin resistance in obese subjects. This studentship will provide extensive training in multiple disciplines such as Bioinformatics, data analysis and molecular biological research methods. A good understanding and knowledge of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is required.

The successful applicant will receive a stipend of £15,009 per annum for 3 years. The post also covers Home/EU PhD tuition fees for three years. Please note, if your application is successful and you are assessed as Overseas for fees purposes, you will need to pay the difference between the Home/EU fees and the Overseas fees.

 The intended start date is March, or the next available intake.

The successful applicant will be expected to complete their PhD within 3 years on MPhil/PhD, contribute to future College REF submissions and get involved in the wider research activities of the College and University
