Valeria Abreu Minero is a Lecturer in Criminal Psychology. Her primary areas of research are the study of homicide trends, patterns and characteristics, empirical crime scene analysis, methodologies used in the context of the investigative profiling of homicide and offender psychopathology.

Francesco Belcastro is a Lecturer and the programme leader of International Relations at the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences here at the University of Derby. He is currently the admissions tutor for International Relations and Diplomacy. He is also a Fellow of the Centre for Syrian Studies, University of St Andrews.

Helen Brocklehurst lectures in Social Science and is Programme Leader for Joint Honours Politics. She teaches modules at masters and undergraduate level which also draw upon her research interests in security, conflict and terrorism; gender and childhood; and the politics of knowledge.

Ray Bull is a Professor of Criminal Investigation at the University of Derby. He teaches on the MSc in Criminal Investigation and undertakes PhD supervision.

Dr Eghosa Ekhator is a Senior Lecturer in Law. He joined the University of Derby in September 2019 from the University of Chester, where he taught on both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His primary areas of research are International Environmental Law (especially Environmental Justice issues in developing countries and the African Union) and Natural Resources Governance.

Associate Professor in Forensic Psychology

Dr Dean Fido joined the University of Derby Online Learning in January 2018 as a Lecturer in Psychology before moving on campus to lead the MSc Forensic Psychology. After completing his PhD at Nottingham Trent University, he completed post-doctoral research at the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging (University of Oxford).

Professor of International and Transnational Criminal Justice, FRSA

Gerhard Kemp, FRSA, is a professor of law and specialises in international and transnational criminal justice, comparative criminal law, international humanitarian law, and transitional justice. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts, London, an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow, Germany, and a former Senior Research Fellow of the Robert Bosch Stiftung in Berlin, Germany.

Sung-Hee Lee
Deputy Chair of the College Research Committee for BLSS & Programme Lead for MRes Social Sciences and Humanities

Dr Sung-Hee Lee has developed a broad understanding in sociology and social policy, mainly focused on care and gender issues within the context of comparative study between Europe and East Asia. Sung-Hee is currently commencing a research project investigating childcare policy development in East Asia and assessing the impact on working mothers' work-life balance.

Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology Programme Leader (Forensic Psychology BSc Hons)

Dr Henry Lennon is a Senior Lecturer in Forensic Psychology. He is also Programme Leader of BSc Forensic Psychology, shaping and maintaining high academic standards by working with colleagues and external bodies. He contributes to teaching both the BSc and MSc Forensic Psychology courses at Derby. His research is in the field of critical discursive social psychology.
