Careers work with adults

Career guidance helps adults to make informed and considered career choices. 

In 2011 NIACE highlighted the important role of career guidance to help adults make informed choices for their learning, work and wider lives. Since then careers advice to adults has changed dramatically with the creation of a National Careers Service (NCS) for England in May 2012. The service currently offers dedicated telephone, web and face to face services to adults.

Based on experience backed by international evidence iCeGS is committed to supporting the development of a strong national all-age universal careers service serving adults and young people throughout their lives. We have a strong track record in supporting policy for adult guidance services having conducted the national Cross-government Review of Information, Advice & Guidance Services for Adults under the previous government. More recent national and international experience includes the following:
