Postgraduate interviews

Interviews for postgraduate study

At the University of Derby, several of our postgraduate courses require an interview prior to receiving an offer to study with us - this is completely normal and usually down to the course-specific entry requirements.

Our interviews are designed not only for us to assess your suitability for the course, but also for you to make sure you are choosing the right course and if the university is right for you.

Your interview

What happens on your interview day is determined by the course you have applied to study. You may be required to showcase your portfolio of work, discuss your work experience, take part in group discussions or demonstrate to the group, how you would teach a skill.

Interviews are held at various locations depending on the course you are applying for. The details of the interview location for your course, parking arrangements and how to get to the location can be found on your course's interview days information page.

You can find out more about the interview process on the Interview information page for your course. It is important that you read this information as it will provide details on what is expected, how the interview is conducted and what you may need to bring with you.

While every effort should be made to attend your interview, we understand sometimes plans can change. If this is the case then please submit a request to amend your interview information.
