BA (Hons) Dance Interview Information
Your interview experience is an exciting opportunity for you to demonstrate your passion for the course you are applying for.
What to expect on the day
Your interview experience is an exciting opportunity to show teaching staff your passion for the subject. You will experience our warm and friendly atmosphere and will have time to ask the questions that are important to your study.
The interview will include:
- A practical workshop that will include a contemporary dance technique class and a creative session led by our Academic Tutors.
- An informal one to one interview with our Academic Tutors.

Your interview will take place at Déda in Derby.

On arrival, please report to the Main Reception where you will be met by a course representative.

If you are arriving by train there are taxis outside the station and the Unibus stops outside the station at regular intervals. Travelling to Derby by bus
Any special requirements?
Please let us know of any special requirements you may have, particularly if you have any disability or special needs, to help us to assist you in the interview process, eg any access or communication issues.
Please note: If you are bringing someone with you they will not be able to stay with you during the selection process, however they are welcome to stay on-site and make use of our wide range of food and drink outlets.
Is the Interview Day compulsory?
Yes. You will need to attend the interview before we can make you an offer on the programme.
What happens if I am running late on the day?
We know that delays are sometimes unavoidable so if you are running late on the day, please contact us as soon as you are able to and let us know your estimated arrival time. If necessary, we can tell you any alternate arrangements for your interview. In some instances, if you expect to be significantly late, we may suggest you book for a different date.
Can I visit the halls/campus?
We have a range of halls within a short walk from our all our sites. They offer safe, good value accommodation and are a great place to make new friends. An information brochure will be given to you in your Welcome Pack when you arrive for your interview.

The Student Housing Centre is open: Monday to Thursday: 9am - 5pm and Friday: 9am - 4.30pm and is based at 126 Nuns Street, Derby, DE1 3LQ (located at Nunnery Court) if you wish to pop in.
If you attend an Open Day you will also have the opportunity to visit halls and see the different types of accommodation on offer.
