University of Derby presents: Open Day Live with Radzi Chinyanganya, will run from 10am-3pm on Saturday 26 September. The day includes tours of our facilities, accommodation, subject talks and interviews with our students and staff. View the full schedule.

Subject chats on Unibuddy

As well as watching our main live stream, you are welcome to chat directly to our staff in any of our subject chats sessions. Academic staff will be on hand to answer subject-specific questions, while students will also be available to talk about all things Derby.

To access the chats you will need to create a UniBuddy account, this only takes a minute and can be done at any time ahead of the event or on the day itself. You'll be sent a unique link to join the events once you have booked your place.

Sile Sibanda

Former Forensic Science with Psychology student Sile is a radio and stage presenter, poet and spoken word performer. She won the BBC Radio Sheffield This is Me presenting competition in 2019 and subsequently became host of the evening show on BBC Radio Sheffield.

Baasit Siddiqui

Baasit studied Business and Information Systems at Derby. A well-known face on Channel 4’s Gogglebox, Baasit has set up his own business, Siddiqui Education, which provides education workshops across the UK. Prior to this Baasit had a successful career in the NHS and as a teacher.

Pete Allen

Since his Computer Science degree at Derby, Pete has become a well-known voice on radio in the local area, fronting shows on Ram FM and co-hosting the Dino and Pete show on Capital East Midlands. He now runs his own podcast company, Carrotcruncher Media, based just a few miles from Kedleston Road.

Emma Clowes

Having studied Creative Expressive Therapies at Derby, Emma now works in the Schools and Colleges Liaison Team at the University. Her role involves working with schools and colleges across the country, to help support students making their decisions about higher education.
