David Robertshaw - Senior Lecturer, Pre-qualifying Healthcare, College of Health and Social Care University of Derby
David is a UK Nursing and Midwifery Council Registered Nurse with a background in adult acute care. David previously combined weekly clinical practice with his academic role. Now devoting full attention to his academic role, he maintains strong links with practice and local hospitals. David is Programme Leader for the FDSc Nursing Associate programme at the University of Derby.
Ian Welsh - Lead Instructor
Ian is a UK Nursing and Midwifery Council Registered with a background in Accident & Emergency & orthopaedics. Since qualifying as a nurse teacher Ian has taught general nursing students and has been head of a pre-registration nursing degree programme. Ian has also worked with the Royal College of Nursing to develop a quality assurance framework for clinical nurse education. Ian is a lecturer and Module Leader for Mentoring in Practice and Leadership in Health and Social Care at the University of Derby.
Dr Pauline Green - Academic Lead – Social Care and Social Work University of Derby Online Learning
Pauline is a registered Social Worker and has worked as an academic at the University of Derby since 1999. She qualified as a Social Worker in 1984 and worked in a wide range of statutory settings in both children and adult services. Some of the more specialists included: working as a Liver Transplant Social Worker at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, Adoption and Fostering Officer in Staffordshire, and Social Worker specialising in Physical Disability in Essex. Her interest in supervising students on placement led her into social work practice education and mentoring. In 2003, Pauline became a full-time lecturer in social work, health and social care, youth and community studies. Her career in academia progressed from Senior Lecturer to Programme Leader in Health and Social Care, to Deputy Head of Department and more recently to Academic Lead in Social Care and Social Work (UDOL).
