Image: Developing Skills for a Sustainable Economy - Nigeria

Nations and organisations around the world are increasingly moving towards sustainability in response to challenges posed by climate change risks and opportunities among others. For this move to be successful, environmental management professionals in particular, business executives and professionals working across the supply chain, are now required to develop a new set of business sustainability skills in addition to their traditional professional skills.

As part of our commitment to the development of these sustainability skills amongst professionals around the world, the University of Derby Online Learning, in partnership with The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), invites intending and existing environmental professionals as well as others interested in sustainability to a free jointly accredited continuous professional development (CPD) seminar in Nigeria with the theme: Developing Skills for a Sustainable Economy

Hosted over three dates in June, our sustainability and environmental management specialist, Dr Uche Okere will be visiting Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt in Nigeria to deliver these free seminars.

Participants at the seminar will gain:

  • Information on current trends in business sustainability and environmental management
  • Information on skills required to drive sustainable change within organisations
  • Details of IEMA accredited Sustainability and Environmental management programmes available at the University of Derby Online Learning
  • Information on accessing exemptions and discounts in the MSc Sustainability and Environmental Management programme
  • Free jointly accredited IEMA and University of Derby Online Learning CPD Certificate of Attendance
  • Networking opportunity for existing and intending IEMA members

You’ll also have the opportunity to hear from IEMA’s Chief Executive, Tim Balcon, and Policy and Engagement Lead, Spencer Clubb. They will be joining the seminar via Skype to introduce the IEMA Skills Map, and to discuss how you can become an IEMA member and the associated benefits of becoming a member.

Places for these events are limited to 60 participants per venue and will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Please book your place early to avoid disappointment.

Please note: accommodation and transport is not included with the free seminar, and delegates wishing to attend the seminar will need to arrange their own transport and accommodation.
