Study Patterns: Environmental Assessment and Control MSc (online)

On this page, you will find the study patterns for our MSc Environmental Assessment and Control (online) programme.

This study pattern highlights the modules that you will need to select and study for the upcoming academic year. The scheduled modules for the remainder of your programme, outlined below, are based on the current plan, however, please note that the order of these may be subject to change. Should any changes be made, we will communicate this to you as soon as possible. Should you have any concerns regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us on +44 (0)1332 594000 (option 4) or UDOLenrolment@derby.ac.uk.

A key aspect of the programme is the Block study week. All online learners are expected to attend this study week since they will be given the opportunity to undertake field sampling and analysis of samples using standard laboratory techniques. Where work commitments will prevent attendance at the Block study week students have the option of a three year programme without a block study week and fieldwork and laboratory based elements. For this group the second coursework assessment for Contaminated Land and Remediation and Freshwater Management will comprise a critical assessment of field and laboratory based techniques used to sample and classify contaminated land and water.

For our students completing the programme at the standard rate of study, we recommend that you study 20 hours per week.
