Study Patterns: Environmental Assessment and Control MSc (online)

On this page, you will find the study patterns for our MSc Environmental Assessment and Control online programme.

This study pattern highlights the module(s) that you will need to study and select for the academic year. The scheduled modules for the remainder of your programme, outlined below, are based on the current plan, however, please note that the order of these may be subject to change. Should any changes be made, we will communicate this to you as soon as possible. Should you have any concerns regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us on +44 (0)1332 594000 or UDOLenrolment@derby.ac.uk.

A key aspect of the programme is the Block study week. Usually all online learners are expected to attend this however due to restrictions on fieldwork activities imposed by the current COVID-19 pandemic the Block study week and will not take place during this academic year. Since we are not able to provide opportunities for field sampling and laboratory analysis, we will offer an alternative assessment for Contaminated Land and Remediation and Freshwater Management. The second assessed element for both modules will comprise a critical assessment of field and laboratory-based techniques used to sample and classify levels of contamination in land and freshwater systems, respectively.

For our students completing the programme at the standard rate of study, we recommend that you study 20 hours per week.
