our Education MA course introduction video transcript

Hello, I’m Lucy Hutchinson, the Academic Lead for MA Education at the University of Derby Online Learning.

The MA Education has 3 pathways; English for Speakers of Other Languages, Leadership and Management and Education. Or for people who prefer not to do the full programme, they could achieve a postgraduate certificate.

The programme is suitable for people who are interested in progression in terms of promotion in their workplace either in education or training. It enables them to choose the choice and topics that they’re interested in of the modules. There are a range of modules, for example, the module of educational challenges, innovative 21st century and also research module. The research module is really interesting because it enables people to develop investigative research into an area of their choice. They will be assigned a supervisor who will support them with their research in terms of research methods and also how to set about doing research. And a lot of people would do that in terms of supporting their workplace for example if you’re in a school there may be an area in your school that you may want to do further investigation into and it also helps you in terms of your continuous professional development and also for your own personal choice as well and some people want to do the masters in Education to perhaps go on to do a PhD studies. So whatever your choice, I hope you’ll decide to choose us and study your MA in Education with us online and I look forward to meeting you.
