I have been Academic Lead for our online Counselling and Psychotherapy courses since September 2014 having previously taught Sports Psychology as an Associate Lecturer for the University of Derby.

I received a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in the USA. While pursuing my degree I worked at the Church Street Counselling Center as a counsellor for two years being trained in Gestalt therapy. After graduation I worked as a mental health counsellor at an adult crisis psychiatric unit, Progress Foundation.

In addition as a certified NLP trainer and coach (by the Society of NLP and NLP & Coaching Institute of California), I have been providing trainings and coaching sessions internationally since 2005.

Since September 2014, I've been working on research projects about peak performance, cultural psychology, and online counselling.

My research interests include 'Development of inspirational leaders’ survey. Bibliotherapy for depression among Japanese working adults. Cultural comparison of shame healing. Attitudes towards mental health problems – cross cultural comparison. Compassion-focused therapy training for Japanese adults. Effects of NLP trainings in mental health, anxiety, stress, and depression among Japanese working adults. Perception toward online counselling – cross cultural comparison.
