Biography

Lecturer in Environmental Health at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore.

During my time in Singapore I developed a good cultural awareness about the issues of course and syllabus development and delivery to meet the needs of different ethic and cultural groups.

I was responsible for delivery of all aspects of environmental health on the Diploma in Environmental Engineering course. The syllabus was based on Royal Society for Health Diploma in Environmental Health and was fully revised under my guidance to cater for the delivery of a local, modern environmental health service.

I introduced a new Advanced Diploma in Occupational and Fire Safety to meet the local needs of industry.

In conjunction with the local Society of Environmental Health I organised and delivered the first Advanced Certificate in Food Hygiene in Singapore.

Your Thoughts About Online Learning

Online learning has enabled many to qualify as Environmental Health Practitioners who would not have been able to access more traditional taught courses. I have a real sense of pride with the course that I have helped to develop and the opportunity to interact with colleagues from all over the UK, the EU and the world. Online learning has opened up a truly global market.
