Return to Practice courses
If you were previously registered as a nurse and want to return to practice you must study a return to practice programme to re-activate your Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration to be able to legally work as a registered nurse.
This course is designed specifically to support you to develop the skills and knowledge you require to work in a dynamic and challenging arena.
The Return to Practice programme consists of one 24 week module and is available to any nurse who has previously been registered with the NMC but is currently unable to comply with the practice standard requirement of working in a nursing capacity for 450 hours, in the three years prior to renewal of registration.
You will need proficient literacy and numeracy skills, evidence of having undertaken some form of academic study in the previous three years and evidence of minimum 30 days or 210 hours of clinical experience in the previous 12 months. You will also need English and Maths at GCSE grade C or above or an alternative. An Occupational Health Clearance and Disclosure and Barring Service clearance are required.
