About the Workshop and Expert Support

The one day workshop will be delivered by Melrakki Consultancy Services Ltd, who are specialists in manufacturing and supply chain, with extensive global experience.

Warehouse operations are an integral part of a company’s business strategy. Efficient warehouse operations can ensure that a company ships and receives vital stock in time for replenishment on store shelves or in manufacturing facilities. The workshop is designed to provide you with an understanding of procurement, warehousing, stores management, transportation and shipping, inventory planning and contract management.

You will leave this workshop with a relatable summarised understanding of the benefits and challenges of warehousing within the transport manufacturing supply chain industry. Specific points of learning within the workshop will include:

  • The main methods for product coding in inventory operations
  • Identify the use of product coding in inventory operations
  • Knowledge of warehousing equipment
  • Understanding the principles of transportation in logistics
  • Comprehend documentation that relates to transport in logistics
  • Assess common types of Incoterms in international logistics
  • Develop a plan for the transport of freight

You will also be offered the opportunity to revisit your learning and discuss any upcoming challenges, learning opportunities and future plans with an expert, during a one to one post workshop session at a later date, arranged through Enscite.

Enscite is a three-year collaboration between the University of Derby, Aston University and Derby City Council to support TEM businesses to improve their productivity to facilitate growth and competitive advantage. It is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Company Eligibility Criteria

This workshop is for companies with:

  • Under 250 employees
  • Turnover not exceeding €50 million
  • Trading office located in the D2N2 LEP area

Unfortunately Statutory Provision or Under 18’s are not eligible.
