Alan Halsall - Silver Cross and Business for Britain

Alan started his professional life following in his grandfather’s footsteps as a qualified lawyer, but a hankering for something more exciting led him to join his family’s toy company, Halsall’s, in 1979. With his strategic direction and brother’s skill as a trader, they built up the business to become the UK’s largest privately owned toy company, with a turnover of £72 million, offices in the UK and Far East and a staff of 120, before it was sold in 2006. Alan is now the owner of Silver Cross, a UK based manufacturer of baby products, and one of the oldest nursery brands in the world.
