Student Conference Children of the World: Contexts

This is a conference involving Early Childhood Studies (ECS) stage 3 students who will present their research on the diversity of childhoods across the world.

The keynote speaker will be Drs Henny Oude Maatman from Saxion University of Applied Science in The Netherlands.

The audience will by stage 1 students from the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies degree, as well as students from partner colleges and students from the Mediterranean College in Greece and Early Childhood Professionals from Derby City Council.

The conference forms part of a core module that Stage 3 ECS students undertake: Contesting Childhood which enables students to develop a critical understanding of childhood whilst recognising that this is a contested phenomenon. Students work as part of a small group on a topic of their choice but will be individually assessed.

The conference will take place on Thursday 22nd March at 2pm in OL1 at Kedleston Road. There are some free places available for anyone interested in the topic of childhood from across the world.
