About the event:

Yellow band disease is one of the most dominant diseases affecting reef building corals throughout the Caribbean.

This talk, will run over what we know about yellow band disease and, more importantly what we need to do now with regard to research direction and protecting this fragile ecosystem.

Guest lecturer, Aldo Croquer, has a PhD in Biological Sciences from Venezuela with 6 years of postdoctoral experience in coral reef ecology. He has dedicated his career to understanding the dynamics of coral reefs, with a particular interest in coral diseases. In the past 16 years he has participated in numerous projects aimed at monitoring coral reef health across the Caribbean and other bioregions.
