About the event:

Chaired by Richard Baker, former journalist, we have Jonathan Leach, Head of Corporate Communications at Derbyshire Constabulary and Maria Potempski, Senior Lecturer in Marketing and PR heading the debate and Keith Perch Programme Leader for Journalism at the University of Derby and Director of the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO). Ethics is a huge topic in communications and is only likely to become more complicated through the growth of social media, fake news and free access to publication. Our experts will discuss issues around the topic to kick off a lively discussion.

The evening is free of charge to CIPR members and University of Derby students and staff. There's a small charge (£10) for other attendees.

CIPR member will receive 5 CPD points for attending this event.

Light refreshments will be served from 6:30pm.
