Literature in Society: The English Conference. 'Writing and Revolution'

Venue OL2, University of Derby, Kedleston Road, Derby, DE22 1GB

Event date: Friday, 5 May 2017 at 8.00 AM
Running until: Friday, 5 May 2017 at 7.00 PM

Join us at our student-led Literature in Society conference where papers will explore the relationship between writing and revolution. 2017 marks the centenary of the Russian Revolution and the 200th anniversary of the Pentrich Rising, as well as the death of Jane Austen. Papers will explore what it means to be a revolutionary writer: is it to write in support of revolutionary ideals, to write in a revolutionary way or, perhaps, both? Original student research will investigate these questions that remain pertinent to the study of literature and society today.

All are welcome to attend.
