EYT Team Conference 2017 Early Years... Honouring Authenticity 8 July 2017

Event date: Saturday, 8 July 2017 at 9.30 AM
Running until: Saturday, 8 July 2017 at 4.00 PM

K006, Kirtley Building, University of Derby, Kedleston Road, Derby, DE22 1GB

If you’re currently working or studying in the early years, this event will give you the opportunity to review your practice and provision.

The conference opens with a keynote exploring the role of the professional in fostering a culture of meaningful learning experiences within early years provision, followed by a selection of expert led workshops. The event will explore authenticity; how we ensure we are tapping into children’s unique interests and ideas.

Our insightful workshops and networking opportunities will enable you to refresh your ideas for delivery within the early years sector. You will receive a University certificate of attendance for your CPD file.

Key Note speaker: Shonette Bason Wood

The University of Derby are thrilled to be welcoming Shonette Bason Wood to deliver the key note speech at our 2017 Early Years Teacher team conference.

Shonette’s speech will focus on empowering delegates to promote and inhabit a positive ethos through their practice. Shonette will share her trademark philosophy of spreading the happiness to empower delegates to work with children’s thoughts, feelings and imaginations and create meaningful experiences for them.

Explore... with Wonder

Ann Thompson, Naturally Creative Early Years Consultancy

Ann Thompson has supported the development of the outdoor provision at Sandfield Nursery School. Ann will share her passion for connecting children with nature, exploring the potential of the outdoor environment in promoting meaningful learning experiences for young children. Delegates will explore imaginative ways to support outdoor learning through an engaging and interactive workshop.

Pause... to Reflect

Ben Kingston Hughes, Inspired Children Training and Consultancy

Early Years practitioner favourite Ben Kingston Hughes will be working with delegates to explore neuroscience and the impact we can have by working ‘with’ children’s brains as they develop. Ben will support delegates to explore what’s happening for babies and young children as they go through the early stages of development.

Respond... in the Moment

Clare Thompson

Clare Thompson is currently the ‘Artist in Residence’ at Sandfield Nursery School and will be joining us to lead a workshop focussed on how she utilises the potential of art to respond to children’s fascinations and document children’s ideas.
