Operational changes to our Sports Centre

Information for students, staff and other users of the University of Derby Sports Centre on the operational changes taking place from January 2022

On 1 January 2022, the running of the University of Derby Sports Centre was taken over by Sports and Leisure Management (SLM) Ltd, who operate under the brand Everyone Active

All existing members and external users of the Sports Centre will have received communications to detail any changes.

Questions and answers

No. Everyone Active will be honouring the current membership prices in this academic year.

No. We will import all existing members' details onto our system. During your first visit, please speak to our front of house team who will issue you with an Everyone Active card and your ID number to set up your online booking options.

No. You will notice that SLM (Sports and Leisure Management) will appear in your bank or building society statement. There is no need for you to change your current direct debit instruction. Additionally, you may also see a comment on your bank statement advising you of the final payment under Nuffield Health and the first payment under Sports and Leisure Management Ltd.

The original contract with Nuffield Health was due to finish. The University has gone through its official procurement process to ensure an operator was chosen in a fair and transparent manner. Everyone Active was the successful organisation that fulfilled all the requirements of the process.

You will notice Everyone Active (EA) branding on staff uniforms, marketing and promotions, and around the Sports Centre. There is also a new website link to book classes and activities, and the availability of the EA app for customers.

No, all existing bookings will be honoured. If you wish to make a new booking enquiry, please use the visit the Everyone Active website.

No, but you can upgrade your membership to a multi-site package. Further details will be shared with you by Everyone Active.

Direct debit or annual paying members have priority booking for all our classes. Booking can be made seven days in advance, via our app or at the sports centre. Casual users can only book five days in advance.

Class timetables will be available to view online and via our Everyone Active app which is available to download on the Google Play Store or the Apple App store

We offer a variety of different memberships, including the option to pay as you go. You can find out what options are available through Everyone Active's website.

No. The Sports Centre now has a new telephone number and email address.

You will be able to cancel your activity booking online and on the app and give at least four hour notice of cancellation. 

No refunds are offered for cancellations, however, you will be able to re-arrange a cancelled activity at no cost.

If you are a pay as you go member you can re-arrange your activity booking by phone or in-person at the Sports Centre reception.
