Internal Review of an Information Request

Internal review of an information request

This process is available for anyone wishing to appeal our decision or the process used in answering a request made under one of the following pieces of legislation:

  • Data Protection Act 1998
  • The Freedom of Information Act 2000
  • The Environmental Information Regulations 2004

This process should only be used in conjunction with information requests and should not be used for any other appeal or complaint.

Appeals and complaints should be made in writing and must contain:

  • Details of why you are unhappy with our decision or processes used
  • What they require doing about it
  • A full contact address
  • These appeals and complaints should then be posted to:

This is a single stage process. Once a decision has been reached we will notify the requester, including our reasons for this decision. If dissatisfied by the outcome, the next stage is to ask the Information Commissioner to review the decision by contacting:
