Life in Derby - BSc (Hons) International Nursing (Top-up) - University of Derby

Life in Derby

Derby is a flourishing and growing city, just a 90 minute train ride from London and on the doorstep of the beautiful Peak District national park. Those who live here cite the advantages of city living, in a compact offering, with a friendly local community.

Derby has a thriving Filipino community, particularly working in our health care sector. There are around 100 Philippine nurses working at Royal Derby Hospital, and more nurses and healthcare assistants in city’s care homes.

There is an active Filipino Derby & Derbyshire Community group, FDDC Samahan, the Derby Filipino Choir meet twice a week and regularly sing at St Mary’s Catholic Church.
