Transport

We offer several term-time bus routes to help you with your travel to and from UoDB, if required. We will update here with further information on 26/27 bus routes when available.

STEP 1 - Apply for a bus pass

Bus Pass application

STEP 2 - Make Payment or Complete a Bursary Application

You will then need to either make payment or apply for a bursary to help to reduce or cover the cost of your bus pass.

Make payment:

Dependent on where you will be travelling from, your charge band will be listed on the bus timetables for the stop you will be using. You can either pay in full or in three termly instalments through the online shop

OR

Apply and complete a bursary application:

Bursary funding is available to help cover the cost of bus passes for students on Full-Time or Part-Time FE study programmes, Traineeships, or Supported Internships, subject to availability. Funds are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants with required evidence.

The Bus Pass Application Form includes questions to assess your bursary eligibility. For further details, visit: buxton.derby.ac.uk/funding-bursaries-loans.

STEP 3 - Receive your bus pass

Temporary bus passes will be issued at enrolment for the first two weeks of term. These will only be issued to students who have applied for a bus pass and plan to use the service, so it’s essential to apply as soon as possible. Your bus pass will be issued when you start the term, once payment has been made (either in full or instalments), or after your bursary application has been completed, assessed, and confirmed as eligible.

If you have any further questions regarding applying for a bus pass or bus pass payments, please email fecurricsupport@derby.ac.uk.
