All university students and staff have the opportunity to become members of the largest electric bike share scheme in the uk

eBikes Derby is Derby’s brand new electric bike share, launched summer 2018.

200 top of the range electric bikes are stationed around 30 docks throughout the city centre in the UK’s largest electric bikeshare scheme.

As the University is a key partner in the project, there are 12 ebike docking stations located around key university sites, such as Kedleston Road Main Campus, the Sports Centre, Brittania Mill, Markeaton Street, as well as close proximity to all Halls of Residence.

At just 3p/min, the ebikes are a fast but affordable transport alternative open to University of Derby students.

The event will include: Basic ebike training by eBikes Derby, Sign up using the website or App, Using the ebike keypad, Locking & Unlocking the ebike, Using the docking station. Cycle Derby will offer basic cycle training, Getting on and off an ebike safely, Stopping & Starting – taking into account stopping distances due to the extra weight of the ebike Basic road safety,

Free Training

All students and staff will receive £10 free ebike credit when they sign up to the university ebikes tariff using their university @unimailderby.ac.uk or @derby.ac.uk email address.

Once the £1 joining fee has been paid, using promo code ebduod01, £10 credit will be added to your account.
