Why Adolescence missed the point: making sense of the manosphere and incels

Adolescence was great TV and began a public conversation about young men, the manosphere, and misogyny but it did not unpick the key factors that contribute to these issues. As is often the case, 'the internet' was treated as a plot device in which radicalisation 'just happened' but there is a lot more to online radicalisation than this suggests.

To simplify: in Adolescence, Jamie Miller felt lonely, went to his bedroom, went online and came downstairs a violent misogynist.
