True Crime on Trial

True crime has evolved from best-selling books and documentaries to viral TikToks and online investigations. This session explores how true crime shapes the way we understand violence, justice, victims and offending behaviour. Through interactive examples, students will be encouraged to share their views and question what they think they know about crime. It considers the line between education, justice and exploration by drawing on criminology, ethics and case studies. It is designed to challenge audiences to rethink what it means to consume crime as entertainment.
