Midlands Enterprise Universities Showcase Event

Date and time
Wednesday, 24 October 2018
09.30 - 14.30

Midlands Enterprise Universities is a partnership of six entrepreneurial universities working together to support the Midlands Engine for growth.

The University of Derby will be hosting this inspiring event to showcase how enterprise sits within our strategic framework. We will demonstrate how we are contributing as a university to support the Government's ambition to grow our regional economy by £34bn by 2030, in partnership with the Midlands Engine* for Growth.

Come along and be inspired by the start-up stories of our Be The Boss* businesses, as they share their business motivations, challenges, successes and lessons learned.

This will be a great opportunity to network with six Midland Enterprise Universities (The University of Derby, Nottingham Trent University, University of Wolverhampton, Birmingham City University, Coventry University and University of Lincoln), University's enterprise staff, local businesses and other enterprise organisations.

* The Midlands Engine is a coalition of Councils, Combined Authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEP), Universities and businesses across the region, actively working with Government to build a collective identity, to enable us to present the Midlands as a competitive and compelling offer that is attractive at home and overseas.

* "Be The Boss" is an award winning programme of enterprise support aimed at students and graduates of the University of Derby who want to become self-employed.
