What is the workshop about?

A quick internet search for ‘data never lies’ will reveal follow-ups such as ‘or does it?’ or ‘but it misleads’. It is crucial to understand how the quality and nature of our data can affect the way that our analysis systems behave and impact our users and decision making. The reality is that almost all of our business-related data is contaminated and full of different types of bias that significantly damage our abilities to gain insights from the data that we have around us.

Join this workshop with our academic expert to help you navigate the wealth of data now available and identify how you can make sound judgments about the data you use.

Cash is the lifeblood of a business the term ‘Cash is King’ springs to mind.

The understanding and management of cash and the cash operating cycle are paramount in a business’s survival. It doesn’t matter what other performance metrics may say, if you run out of cash you no longer have a business. However, other financial and non-financial metrics impact the 'cash journey', so must be taken into account.

What will you learn?

During this session, we will look into some further details as to how seemingly profitable businesses can fail, and positive and negative cash flows. We will consider the tools and techniques to help manage cash flow and review cash flow forecasting, and the concept of measuring, managing, and controlling - understand problems and the discipline of solving them.
