About the workshop

This workshop is all about getting connected and staying connected. In business, though it’s sometimes daunting, networking is everything – a strong network is your bread and butter. That’s why it’s so important to nurture this from an early stage and build a network that will serve you and your work. This workshop will take you through the different types of networking, provide some vital advice for leveraging your connections, prepare you for real networking scenarios and even give you an opportunity to network with other delegates.

This workshop will cover the following areas:

  • Why networking is so important in business
  • Different types of networking, including in person and virtual
  • How to beat the nerves and awkwardness and get to know people comfortably
  • How to nurture your own network long term, for profitability

Lecturer in Business and Marketing

Chrissie Rowell is a Lecturer in Marketing and Advertising with a strong practioner focus and a wealth of industry experience. She is module leader for Advertising Fundamentals and teaches many other creative and strategic marketing modules including Marketing Fundamentals and Design and Creativity for Marketers.
