Join us as we disseminate key learning from the Office for Students funded: Addressing Barriers to Student Success, Student Attainment Project 2 (SAP2) led by the University of Derby working in collaboration with Solent University and the University of West London.

The issue of BME student attainment is a complex one with no magic bullet that can be administered in order to alleviate institutional concerns but suggests a long term commitment to inclusive practice within the sector (Demack, 2018).

At this conference we will reflect on: the approach we have taken to scaling up the University of Derby’s Student Attainment Project through the SAP2 within each of the collaborating institutions and to addressing attainment gaps for different groups of students; our experiences and learning for the sector.

This conference offers the opportunity for those working or studying within higher education to discuss and debate concerns relevant to challenges and opportunities to addressing the complexity of achieving student success. Speakers at the event will offer thoughts on this topic and delegates will be given the opportunity to consider how these issues can be tackled in their own institutions.
