Facilities - Engineering and Technology

The college of Engineering and Technology has access to many state-of-the art facilities at Markeaton Street Campus and Kedleston Road Campus.

Markeaton Street

The Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Built Environment as well as Electronics courses are based at Markeaton Street, just a short walk away from the city centre and the University’s main site at Kedleston Road. The site houses specialist equipment for technology, engineering, arts and design courses, and has some interesting design and construction features that control heat, maximise natural daylight and harness the heat from the sun. Take the virtual tour here.

Kedleston Road

Computing and Mathematics courses are based at the University’s main site, Kedleston Road. We have eight dedicated computing laboratories, including two open-plan software development studios, one networking laboratory and five general purpose computing labs. All labs contain dual-screen, multiprocessor computers equipped with a variety of industry-standard commercial and open source software, and there are dedicated technicians to provide support. You can also borrow equipment, such as video cameras, mobile devices, laptops and various hardware.
